On November 8th 2023 came into force the latest rule amendments. Please find the official document in the link provided below:
This amendment aims for clearer writing of the rules, and thus, most of the changes do not imply any rule change. However, there are a couple of changes to highlight.
Competition Secretary
Since Nov 2023 Amendments, a red and white card must be shown to an athlete who is allowed to compete “under protest”. Along the same line, a “P” should now be shown in the results of the competition to make clear that the athlete is competing under protest.
Race Walking
Previously, the rule that allowed the Chief Judge to disqualify an athlete in the last 100m when their mode of progression obviously fails to comply with the rules, was applicable only to World and Area Competitions.
Now this power has been extended to all World Rankings Competitions.
