Age Categories
- Under-18 (U18). Any athlete of 16 or 17 years on 31st December in the year of the competition.
- Under-20 (U20). Any athlete of 18 or 19 years on 31st December in the year of the competition.
- Master. Any athlete of 35 or more years on the day of the competition.
The applicable regulations for any competition may specify different age categories.
An athlete must be able to provide proof of their age through a passport or any other approved method.
Sex Categories
- Men. Athlete born and, throughout their life, have always been recognised as a male.
- Women. Athlete born and, throughout their life, have always been recognised as a female.
- Universal. Both Men and Women are allowed to participate under a single classification result.
Mixed competitions are those in which Men’s and Women’s events take place simultaneously, but each category has a different classification result.
