Simultaneous Entries
If an athlete is entered in both a Track Event and a Field Event, or in more than one Field Event
taking place simultaneously, the appropriate Referee may:
- Vertical Jumps: For each trial at a time, allow the athlete to take their trial in a different order.
- Rest of Field Events: For each round of trials at a time, except for the final round of trials, allow the athlete to take their trial in a different order.
This rule does not apply to Combined Events.
If a change in order for a particular trial has been granted, and the athlete is not present for such trial, it shall be deemed that they are passing once the period allowed for the trial has elapsed.
It is important to point out that the change in order may be granted for one trial at a time, and never for the entire event.
Failure to Participate
An athlete will not be allowed to participate in further events in the following cases:
- The athlete gave final confirmation that the athlete would start in an event but then failed to participate.
- The athlete qualified in a Qualification Round but then failed to participate further.
- The athlete failed to compete honestly with bona fide effort (It will be shown in the official results as DNF TR4.4.3). This rule does not apply in Combined Events individual events.
The Technical Delegate may accept as sufficient reason a medical certificate provided by the Medical Delegate, or other justifiable reasons (e.g. factors independent of the athlete’s own actions, such as problems with the official transport system).
Failure to Report to the Call Room(s)
No athlete will be allowed to participate if they are not present in the
An athlete shall be excluded from participation in any event in which they are not present in the Call Room(s) at the published time. They shall be shown in the results as DNS (Did Not Start).
The relevant Referee may allow such athlete to participate (or compete under protest) if justifiable reasons exist (e.g. factors independent of the athlete’s own actions, such as problems with the official transport system or an error in the published Call Room schedule).
